Cloud in a nut shell
— October 22, 2013Cloud is the most misunderstood and misused ( I would add over used ) term in the IT industry today. But if you want to understand Cloud at a high level, it can be categorized as three basic types of service
- Software-as-a-service, offered by vendors such as Salesforce.com (CRM).
- Platform-as-a-service, which customers use to deploy software apps without having to own the tech
- Infrastructure-as-a-service, companies such as SoftLayer and RackSpace provide.
